Oasis were one of the most successful bands to ever come out of the UK, with 8 highly acclaimed studio albums, over 20 hit singles and a multitude of top awards. So you can imagine the joy we have had over the past 12 months working with the band members and their archivists to create an interactive website that comprehensively tells the rich 20-year history of the band and their music.
A key element of how we achieved this was to involve one of the most important parts of a band’s story – their fans. Through simple but effective integration that harnessed the power of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, we encouraged the fans to contribute their memories and memorabilia to the story and become part of it themselves.
The website was also designed to provide a hub for the promotion of the anniversary editions of Definitely Maybe and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? and Be Here Now. The campaign won Best Catalogue Marketing Campaign at the Music Week Awards 2015.
